Bhadraksha 108 Bead Japa Mala / Prayer Bead

$ 5.96 $ 3.58

Tibetan prayer beads are used by Buddhists and Hindus when counting mantra recitations.  As these mantras can be repeated hundreds or even thousands of times, the mala beads enable one to focus on their intention rather than counting.   Malas generally consist of 108 beads plus a head or “guru” bead; 100 recitations, plus eight extra beads for mistakes or miscounts.  The head bead is believed by some to represent the student’s teacher or guru, while others believe it exists solely as an ending and beginning marker.
